Q. Single or an annual multi-trip policy, what is the best value?
A.
If you are planning to go on several trips a year, annual multi-trip travel insurance policy may well work out to be more cost effective than taking out a separate single trip policy each time you travel. Whichever you choose you can still take out optional covers such as golf cover, winter sports cover, sports equipment cover, or business cover.
Q. What confirmation do I have for the cover purchased?
A.
When you purchase
travel insurance online
we will provide you with a policy reference number which confirms your cover. The policy reference number along with a link to download your Policy Booklet is sent to the email address you supply.
Q. Can I travel without my policy documents?
A.
Yes, a valid policy number is all that is required for proof of
travel insurance
when travelling. However, we also recommend you take the helpline numbers with you when you travel, and if possible, your policy booklet or summary and schedule, in case you need to check your cover whilst travelling.
Q. My age will change during the policy duration, will this affect my cover?
A.
For a single trip travel policy your age will be calculated from your date of departure and it will make no difference if your age changes during your period of travel.
For an annual multi trip travel policy your age will be calculated from the date of taking out the policy, so it does not matter if your age changes during the period of your insurance.
Q. How do I know the policy went through ok?
A.
As long as you have a policy reference number, you can be sure everything went through ok. If you do have any concerns you can contact our travel cover team on 0800 158 5516.
Q. Am I covered as soon as I get the reference number?
A.
For
single trip travel insurance
your cancellation cover will start from the date we issue the policy. The rest of your cover will start on your intended departure date.
For annual multi-trip travel insurance your cancellation cover begins either from the start date of the policy or from the date of booking each holiday, whichever of these is the latter.
You can forward date your annual travel insurance policy, but no cover will be available until the actual policy start date.
Q. Can people travel independently on annual travel policies?
A.
Adults can travel independently, however children under the age of 18, or 23 if in full time education, must be accompanied by an adult insured on the same policy.
Q. What is the age limit on Golf Care Travel Insurance?
A.
For a single trip policy you must be under 70 years old at the date of departure.
For annual multi-trip policies you must be under 66 years old at start date of the policy.
Q. How can I pay for the policy?
A.
We accept card payments. You can pay for the policy by using your VISA, MasterCard, Maestro, Delta, Switch, VISA Electron, Solo and Connect card. Please note that we do not accept American Express cards.
Q. How long can I travel for?
A.
Single trip policy - We can cover you for up to 31 days on a single trip policy.
Annual Multi-trip policy - You can have any number of trips through out the year. However, no single trip should exceed 31 days.

Q. What can I do if I want to cancel my policy?
A.
You are free to cancel your Golf Care travel insurance policy at any time. If you cancel within 14 days of receiving your policy documents we will return your premium in full, provided you have not started your trip and have not made, or do not intend to make a claim. If you cancel after 14 days of receipt of your policy documents, no premium refund will be made.
